There has been some misunderstanding as to the 144,000 mentioned in the book of Revelation. The 144,000 are young virgin Jews who have been selected by God to evangelise during the tribulation. There are 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. Each of the 144,000 has a mark on their forehead representing ‘His Father’s name’. This mark is God’s seal of protection against His divine judgement on the earth during the tribulation and against the wrath of the Antichrist. The 144,000 Jews’ mission is to evangelise to those left behind after the rapture and proclaim the Gospel. As a result of their ministry, a multitude from every nation will come to Christ and receive salvation.
Amir Tsarfati, Founder and President of Behold Israel, and Barry Stagner, Senior Pastor of Calvary Central Orange County in the US and the host of The Line Up, World Events in Bible Prophecy News Chanel joined Robbo on 20Twenty to discuss End Times Bible Prophecy.
‘In Revelation 7, those from the twelve tribes of Israel are being commissioned to be witnesses for the Lord, and they have the seal of God on their forehead,’ said Amir. ‘In Revelation 14, we see them already before the throne after having been martyred. They completed their job and now their souls are in the presence of the Lord, singing to Him a new song that nobody but them knew.’
Amir explains that after chapter five in the book of Revelation, the church is no longer mentioned because all believers have been raptured. The church will not go through the tribulation. This is the reason why God raised 144,000 Jews and the two witnesses.
‘That’s why there is no way that the nation of Israel will be annihilated and the Jewish people will be extinct because they still have a job and a task even throughout the tribulation,’ said Amir.
Jews Return to the Homeland
After the death of Solomon, the Kingdom of Israel split and the Jews from the northern kingdom were scattered.
‘Those people are slowly making their way back to Israel. We see people from the tribes of Dan and Manasseh; Ethiopians, and people coming from India and other places,’ said Amir. ‘God is bringing his people back to their land slowly. We’re watching it happening and it’s just beautiful. I believe we’re not done yet. Jews will still come back in greater numbers. And most likely, the greatest catalyst for the return of the Jews is not going to be to return to a prosperous Israel. It’s going to be because of persecution and economic crisis and anti-Semitism around the world that will cause them to return home.’
The tragic war between Ukraine and Russia has resulted in the return of Jews to Israel from both countries. God is looking after His people even amongst tragedy. God’s plan is being executed no matter what.
Barry explains how in Genesis 15:18 God made a covenant not just with the people and the descendants of Abraham; He made that covenant with the land.
‘That’s why later, Ezekiel would talk about the fact in chapter 38 that every day the Jews are outside of their national homeland, the Lord’s name is profaned,’ said Barry. ‘It’s because of that covenant with both the people and the land that is a prophetic necessity that the Jews not only be residing within the boundaries of Israel but also have possession of all of Jerusalem for what is going to happen in the future with the building of the Third Temple.’
Barry explained that when the Jews became a nation again on 14 May 1948, and were given a homeland, it was the most significant prophetic event in church history.
‘We are living in an age of sequential prophetic fulfilment that’s marching toward the rapture of the church and then the tribulation follows,’ said Barry.
‘Connect’ with Amir
In 2024, Amir will be taking a sabbatical from touring to set up a CONNECT network where he will report on local and global news and how it is lining up with Bible prophecy.
‘The Lord really spoke to me saying that next year, if we’re still here, will be a very critical year with major events that will require me to stay home and be with my family,’ said Amir.
