Alison from Rural View Queensland made an exciting discovery in her car and the classroom!
‘I was travelling in rural Queensland, commuting from the town where I live to a smaller country town, and I was flicking through the stations, and I came across Vision. Because the commute was an hour or more each day, there and back, I would listen to you guys in the morning going down. I felt it was a really great way to utilise the time. Then, of course, I always play the replays from those shows, so I listen to you in the afternoon on the way home as well,’ said Alison.
‘It wasn’t just a matter of listening to music, which sometimes I did do. I really liked your banter and your engagement with the audience as well. But most of all, what I really loved was the fact that with radio, anyone can accidentally stumble on to it and can hear about Jesus, which I thought was, ‘Wow!’ I accidentally discovered it, and then I thought, if I can do it, so many other people can too,’ said Alison.
Vision’s in the Classroom!
‘I was really tickled pink. I started another job this week, and I went into the classroom, and I almost jumped out of my skin because what did they have up on the Smartboard? They had your Vision website on there with The Word For Today, like a little Bible study for the day, that they were reading together. This was in a Year 2 class! So, Vision’s there! It’s on the radio, and it’s on the web, and it’s in the classroom!’
Many people had no idea that Vision is available in so many different capacities. It’s digital; it’s online; there’s the radio, podcasts, The Word For Today that’s available digitally or in print. Vision is reaching people all over the place, from the city to the country. People are accessing it for what they need, and it’s all made possible because of our supporters who donate to keep Vision going.
Visionathon is both a fundraiser and a whole lot of crazy fun where people get to share their testimonies and how Vision has impacted their lives. It happens because of supporters standing together. Whatever you give, the great news is that it’s going to be met with an additional gift of the same amount from this couple in Victoria.
