Cheryl from Port Macquarie just donated $700 to Visionathon. She travels frequently and uses the Vision app everywhere, especially after overcoming despair from an abusive marriage. Her brother Adam was the one who introduced her to Vision, which she says has become a constant companion in her life.
‘I did become a Christian when I was younger,’ says Cheryl, ‘but I was going to God and then pulling away from Him. I didn’t have Him in every part of my life. I thought I could just put God in certain areas and keep Him away in others.’
One of the things Cheryl loves about Vision is that she can take it everywhere with her. Whether she’s listening on the app or in the car, it allows her to have God in every aspect of her life. ‘He’s been healing me and showing me that it’s okay to live, it’s okay to be with Jesus and walk freely.’
Cheryl follows Vision on Instagram and Facebook as well and says the little messages that pop up throughout the day are so encouraging. She also finds The Word For Today always has something relevant to what she’s going through.
‘Those little moments of awesome that God gives you just make you so happy,’ says Cheryl. ‘I can have joy amongst the bad days. God gives me a reason to get out of bed, to read His word and spend time with Him. It’s very special.’
Listening to Vision helps Cheryl be more obedient to God, and she encourages everyone to let the Holy Spirit into their lives. ‘God is good and He’s only going to bring you good even when it feels terrible. He’s still going to bring good out of our trials.’
Cheryl appreciates being able to have Vision on her at all times, even joking that she carries us around in her pocket!
