Abraham, who arrived in Australia in 2009 and now lives in Bunbury, WA, became a dedicated listener of Vision soon after he arrived. The songs, conversations, stories, and teachings provided him solace and a sense of belonging, making him feel like a part of a family in Australia.

In 2014, Abraham received a stage four kidney cancer diagnosis, leading to the removal of his left kidney. Throughout this challenging time, he persisted in prayer, longing for a divine encounter. Encouraged by his wife, he continued to believe in the possibility of hearing from God.

‘I prayed to God and I said, You can talk to me whenever, whenever you feel,’ says Abraham. ‘And that night I had a dream and a Bible verse did speak to me. It was going through my mind all night and the next morning.’

The verse that Abraham felt that God spoke over him was Genesis 9:13 – I’ve seen my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

‘In place of the word earth, I’ve put my name in,’ says Abraham. ‘Because God listens to me and speaks to me through that verse. It’s between God and myself. Every time I see a rainbow, I think about this.’

Listening to Vision has been such a blessing to Abraham and his wife Amanda, and continues to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. ‘Thank you so much for the wonderful work that you are doing,’ he says. ‘Spreading the word of God with programs, songs and teachings.’

One of Abraham’s favourite programs to listen to is Sunday Morning Together. ‘It’s very inspiring for us before we go to church, and we thank you so much for that.’

Wouldn’t you love to be part of reaching people all over Australia with the life-changing message of Jesus? The seed you sow by donating to Visionathon will enable Vision to continue to install radio stations and take up opportunities like DAB+ Digital Radio in Sydney and Melbourne.

For every person who responds with a gift, a generous partner will provide a Plain English Version of the Bible, distributed through Bible League, to support the work of Indigenous evangelists in Australia. Your contribution to Visionathon ensures a copy of this new translation ultimately ends up in the hands of an Indigenous person in Australia.
