Every now and then we all need a miracle!

Visionathon might need a miracle or two to reach our goal, and every one of us can do our part to make that happen. Amber from South Australia called in to tell us why Vision means so much to her.

Amber was raised in a Catholic family, but by the time she reached her teenage years had stopped going to church. Soon after she began experimenting with drugs and after delving heavily into new age, she ultimately became a psychic medium. This sent her on a downhill spiral of psychosis.

‘There’s been drug abuse, alcohol abuse, promiscuity and severe mental illness,’ says Amber. ‘I was pretty much psychotic for a lot of my life, believing delusional thoughts. I’ve been saved from suicide attempts many times.’

Amber finally came to know Christ through her partner’s stepmother. She was very mentally unwell at the time, and was connected with a couple in her local church who were able to pray for her. ‘I realised then that it was the God of the Bible,’ says Amber. ‘Not the new age gods that are taught. That’s when I just got rid of all my new age stuff. I burned it in a fire and gave my life to Jesus.’

Amber has experienced incredible transformation, and is now listening to Godly music and teaching. Vision has made a huge difference in her life, and has played a vital role in her recovery.

‘You guys have impacted me so much,’ says Amber. ‘I just found you accidentally because I had watched a documentary about secular music and I didn’t want to listen to it anymore, and I was just flicking through the radio stations looking for a Christian one.’

That’s when Amber found Vision. For her, it had all the right songs and all the right words. ‘I actually called my daughter Eliana, which is Hebrew for God has answered my prayer,’ she says. ‘I just fell in love with Hebrew after listening to the Arabic blessing.’

‘I love all of you for what you do to help me in my walk, and to keep me focussed on God each day.’

We know that faith comes by hearing God’s word. When we hear stories like Amber’s, we know that God is working in us and through us together at Vision. God found Amber, and set her free to serve and love Him. Wouldn’t you love to be part of helping others find that same hope and healing?
