In his series, “Your Life Has A Purpose”, Pastor Greg Laurie wants you know that your life is a gift from God! You are loved more than you realise, and God wants to change the paradigm of your life. But you have a choice to make. Will you choose God?

Greg speaks from his own painful experience of growing up in an abusive home, yet still being able to cling to the belief that one day things would get better. At that time in his life, Greg couldn’t explain the feeling. But looking back he knows that it was God placing eternity in his heart. We are all created by God before we know Him, and we carry the sense that there is something more in life.

Part 2

“God can take all of the hurt and pain we have experienced in this life and use it to touch other people. That’s what helps to make us into the men and women He wants us to be,” says Greg.

“Sometimes there doesn’t seem like a bright side. Hope seems to be in short supply these days. But God wants you to know that your life matters!”

When we accept Jesus, He changes our lives immediately. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be many challenges and setbacks. When Greg’s oldest son died in car accident, he felt like his life was ending. He was so devastated that he began to question how he would survive such a thing. But it was his wife who comforted him in that moment with the words, “Its going to be ok”.

Jesus gives us what we need each and every day. No matter what you are facing right now, He is right there with you.

There will always be bad things, but God promises us that He will cause all things to work together for good. But the devil does not want this to happen! He wants us to abandon hope.

Jesus wants us to abandon hopelessness. We have the choice to listen to the devil or to Jesus.

“The story of Moses shows us that he was indeed a flawed individual, yet he became one of the greatest men of God in history. The wilderness became his home. He could be Impulsive and impatient, but also humble, broken, and obedient. He was both idolised and criticised,” continues Greg.

“People were crying out to God for a deliverer. God protected Moses as a baby so he could lead the people out of exile. The child had a special purpose for his life.”

Greg believes God has a special purpose and plan that is unique to you too. It is independent of the circumstances you were born into.

“Even if you parents didn’t plan you, your life was planned for by God. There are no illegitimate children! Ask yourself, why has God preserved me up to this point?”

In the story of Moses, the natural and the supernatural work together. Greg believes we need to take the practical steps and then pray for the Lord to lead.

When Moses was old enough, he claimed his birthright, and chose to suffer for the sake of the Messiah rather than experience the fleeting pleasures of sin. He knew that the repercussions of sin could last a lifetime.

“The worst that God offers is still better than the best that the world offers. The bible tells us that happy are those who hear the word of God and keep it. Real happiness and purpose come from a relationship with God. People and circumstances will let you down, but Jesus never will.”

Life deals us a hand we can’t control, but we can choose how we respond. Every trial we face can be transformative in the hands of God.

Why Does God Allow Suffering? – Pastor Greg Laurie

Why does God allow suffering? It’s a common question. But it can help us if we can see our pain through the eyes of God.
