Vanessa, from Mount Victoria in NSW, shares how she came to Christ during the Covid lockdown when relationship problems she’d been avoiding started to surface.
‘When you’re stuck in an environment with very little capacity to go anywhere, it heightens those issues. And so what was so fantastic is that my ego wasn’t allowed to ignore the fact that my husband had bought a Bible about four years previously. And every morning, the kids and I saw him read it,’ said Vanessa. ‘That was one of the issues that came up initially for me. I asked myself why was I hesitating? I realised it was a combination of ignorance and this idea that I knew better or that what he was doing was limiting.’
Curiosity got the better of Vanessa, and she bought a Bible online. When it arrived, she found she couldn’t read it. She felt, in a sense, threatened that reading it would change her mind, and subconsciously she wanted to keep who she thought she was.
She ultimately came to Christ in 2020 and began listening to Vision Radio, saying there is always something she learns from listening. She has been inspired and encouraged by what she hears every day, and her faith is growing as she studies God’s Word.
