Joan from Bligh Park in New South Wales just lost her dear old dad just eight days away from his 101st birthday. Joan’s father led the whole family to the Lord and left behind a legacy of God’s Word.
‘He was a lovely man. He loved the Lord and taught us all in the family about Jesus Christ and how much He did for us by dying for us,’ said Joan. ‘He led us all to the Lord and taught us so much about God and the Scriptures. It was great. One of his soapboxes was memory verses. So, he’s taught me very well. I’m so proud of him.’
Joan is also the carer for her husband, who has cancer and is not coping very well. When she needs to lift her spirits and needs songs of joy, she turns on Vision Radio and listens to the music, the scriptures and words of encouragement. One of her favourite memory verses is:
‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
‘Be anxious for nothing is the motto for my life.’
