Mark’s Journey from The Word For Today to Remote Outreach

Text size: A- A+

Introduced to The Word For Today by his mother, Mark from Gold Coast has embraced the daily ritual of reading it, a tradition he inherited from her many years ago. ‘It’s great waking up and reading an encouraging word that you might need for that day,’ he says.

Mark now travels to remote communities to conduct Mental Health First Aid training, where he often connects with fellow believers who feel isolated.

‘There’s some remote communities that we go up to in the Northern Territory,’ says Mark, ‘that are experiencing very young people taking their lives. The one first aid response that we do is teaching people how to pick up signs and ask questions.’

Mark emphasises the importance of people experiencing God’s love without complicating the message. ‘It’s more about being mindful of your neighbour and your friend and checking in with them.’

Wouldn’t you love to be part of reaching people all over Australia with the life-changing message of Jesus? That is the seed you are sowing your money into! Donate now, and you can be a part of more stories just like Mark’s.

For every person who responds with a gift, a generous partner will provide a Plain English Version of the Bible, distributed through Bible League, to support the work of Indigenous evangelists in Australia. Your contribution to Visionathon ensures a copy of this new translation ultimately ends up in the hands of an Indigenous person in Australia.

You can respond right now with your donation on the phone at 1800 316 316, at vision.org.au or in the free Vision Christian Media app. You’ll be helping people look to God daily as we believe and work together.
