Bruce and Edwina, from Mitchell, QLD are regular Vision listeners. The music on Vision helped them get through a dark period in their life when they lost their son. Bruce particularly loves Lauren Daigle’s song, You Say. He loves Francesca Battistelli and the song, Be Thou My Vision.

‘It was extremely tough losing our son. It’s not so bad now, but at the beginning, it was very, very hard because it’s the last thing that anybody expects to hear. The last thing you expect is to get a visit from a police officer knocking on your door to say your son’s passed away,’ said Bruce.

‘The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.’ Psalm 9:9 NKJV

Vision exists to reach people with the Gospel and to build their faith and encouragement. In particular, songs mark certain periods in your life and they have immense power to sustain your emotions through difficult times.

‘I  was at my brother’s place at Mount Tamborine years ago, and he happened to mention a song called Be Thou My Vision. We got out our phones and Googled it. We never thought about it again for several years. Then a few years ago, I started to play it just a couple of years before we lost our son. That song just meant so much to me. There were several songs that were played on the radio, such as Lauren Daigle and Francesca Battistelli that we just clung to after his death. It doesn’t matter what you’re going through, there’s always someone there to help. There’s always someone there to pick you up with words of encouragement. Especially, the lyrics of the song, You Say by Lauren Daigle, which we played at my son’s funeral,’ said Bruce.

Bruce shared what it means to him to be a part of the Vision family. He loves that it’s available 24/7, and he can switch on his computer and start listening. ‘It helps to start the day off right,’ said Bruce. He can also listen in his car as he’s driving around. It’s the only station he will listen to because he loves it. He loves the station, the teaching, the music, and the interviews.
