Dear friends,

I trust that you and your family had a blessed Christmas and a good start to the New Year.

We’re off to a great start, with four new Vision stations being launched in January! They are in Cherbourg QLD, Tatura VIC, Popanyinning WA and Nabiac NSW—praise God!

These towns are part of a new push to help even more people look to God daily, expanding Vision Christian Radio into 100+ more regional towns and cities over the next three years, as well as increasing our reach through digital platforms. Work is also advancing on a major upgrade for the Vision app, which will make it much easier to use and share with others.

2021 has already shown itself to be an interesting year with sudden lockdowns and border closures, plus disturbing scenes in the USA. The winds of cultural change also continue to blow strongly with entertainment industries, social influencers, and even our legal system increasingly challenging Biblical truth; some even say the Bible is dangerous, standing in the way of the pursuit of “my truth” (of “whatever I want it to be to discover my true self”).

How can we continue to share the Gospel in this environment?

Let me encourage you—as Christians, we should not to be ashamed of the Gospel because it is far more liberating, satisfying, and joyful than anything the world could possibly offer. We are in an amazing position to live out our faith for all to see—but what stops us? Too often it is the ‘sin that so easily entangles,’ that Paul spoke about in Hebrews 12:1. But in the very next verse, Paul also gave us the key to running the race God has set before us—’by fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.’

Together through Vision, we’re disarming the weapons of mass distraction to help people focus their attention on the truth of God each day. Here’s a great example;

‘When I became an active Christian, I was given the Vision devotional (The Word for Today). It spoke right to my heart and my situation and gave me hope. 11 years on, my life is completely different. Challenges I have faced have been giants, but with Jesus in my corner now, I never fall back to where I was. I get through with an incredible peace, faith, and hope knowing God is using each situation to make me stronger, sure and more loving and patient – and I get closer to him in the crises. Things that once would have knocked me for 6, I hardly bat an eyelid at. Thank you for being a stable foundation in Christ for me.’ – Barb

Friends, we’d like to invite you to partner with Vision in a deeper way by becoming a monthly supporter. It’s very easy to do, and will make a huge difference to know that you’re with us every month, no matter how much you decide to give.

Thank you also for your ongoing prayer for us—for great wisdom, humility and provision.

Let me close with the Word of The Lord, spoken through the prophet Isaiah;

‘As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’

Isaiah 55:11-12 NIV

Amen!
