Phil shares Cheryl’s story from Vision’s new home
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener…. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.” – John 15:1-4
In this parable, Jesus shares that He is the vine and we are the branches. The only way that we can receive sustenance and bear fruit is to remain plugged into Him – if we cut ourselves off from the vine, we perish.
However, sometimes life gets so foggy that in the natural we can’t see a way out of our current situation.
When all seems impossible, it is these situations that God uses to draw us closer in our relationship with Him. He wants to remind us to cling to the Vine and never let go. It is only then that He is able to provide Real Hope and direction out of the fog.
Cheryl from Liverpool in New South Wales lives a particularly ‘foggy’ and stressful life. Not only is she constantly on the road for work, but she also cares for her husband with MS.
It was when she was visiting her brother that she couldn’t help but feel a real peace that surrounding his house. Cheryl asked him what it was, and he pointed her to Vision which is constantly broadcasting God’s Word into his home.
“I thought, well I need to start listening to this at my house and in the car. I’ve got the app, so I’m usually at work listening to it on my headphones. The app is a great tool for being able to bring [Vision] with me. I travel a lot for work and am actually in Perth at the moment.”
Vision has become a key tool for Cheryl to stay connected to the Vine. Wherever she is, whatever the situation she’s currently facing, Vision is there connecting God and His Word into her life every single day.
“I have a husband who is quite sick, he’s been sick for a long time with a MS type disease. All the pressure is on me. I work full time. He has good and bad days. Looking at the world, there are days I have that are just dreadful, and if I don’t have something that helps my mind and my soul to point me back to Jesus, then I just have that dread.”
“Vision to me, and I’m trying not to cry as I say this, because it’s such a special thing – it’s giving me the hope and love that I need from Jesus. It’s a reminder throughout the day with the sermons, and the beautiful talks, it’s just that constant reminder of that Hope that Jesus brings to this world.”
Vision helps take my mind off the dread I’m in and gives me the Love that I need.
