A Child's Generosity

Each year we hear thousands of stories of how people across Australia have grown close to God daily. All of these are special, but some of the ones closest to our hearts are the stories of how children have grown in their faith.

Jeannie is from Western Australia and shared with us recently.

“My 8-year-old son, Zechariah, was gifted a radio by his Grandad. Since receiving this radio, he has had Vision playing 24/7. I sometimes must sneak in at night and turn it down so he is not waking the other kids. He came to me with $20 yesterday and said he wanted to donate; he has been saving his money for a long time, so this was a big step for him. I could tell it came from a place of sacrifice; when I asked him if he was sure, he said, ‘Yes, I think Vision can do more with it.’ Hearing him talk and recount things he hears on Vision has been so incredible. Thank you for your ministry.”

Jeannie shared that if anyone turns the radio off Vision, they get in trouble for it!

Zechariah was learning what it meant to be generous and trusting. He believed his money was going into good soil, and he knew it was doing something for him and his family. He’ll be able to see what God does with his sacrifice in the future—but we know he’s going to help people look to God through it. This incredible childlike faith leaves us all for dead sometimes.
