People in the outback praying

Throughout the month of October, we were honoured to be able to lead Christians across the nation in prayer for rain and revival to break the physical and spiritual drought.

Each day on Vision Christian Radio, time was put aside to stop and pray, led by national Christian leaders, pastors, farmers and everyday believers joining together to seek God’s favour over our nation according to 2 Chronicles 7:14.

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (NIV)

Thank you for your prayers and while we need to continue praying for those areas still experiencing this great dry spell, some encouraging reports.

Stephanie from Cobar, in outback NSW, said:
“Rain is pouring down! What a wonderful sound and answer to prayers.  The drought is far from broken, the land has been so dry and parched but tonight God has send sustained rain for the last hour or more. Our God is great and gracious, my heart is overflowing with thankfulness. My prayer is that this rain will be sustained and cover a large area of our country. Thank you, LORD God Almighty.”

Julie from Gladstone reported: “Good regular showers. We are now mowing lawns again. Our church people have been praying corporately. We are so blessed. We are also praying for rain for farmers… People of God rise up and give God praise. God bless you all.”

The challenges have intensified in many places, despite the rain. Over 280 fires have raged in the past few weeks, many of them uncontrolled. Hundreds of homes have been lost.

How do we help people in the midst of tragedy?

There remains only one anchor, one true hope: Jesus. Praise God for these great reports! But the drought is far from broken, please continue to uphold our nation in prayer with us. We’d also appreciate your prayers for Vision as we continue to share real hope in hundreds of drought ravaged communities nationwide.
