Dear friends,

I know it seems a lot is happening all around us at the moment, with traditional values being challenged more and more each day. But be reassured, God sees the big picture.

Recently the resident Chaplain of Vision Christian Media, Ps Rob Mann, retired after 15 years of faithful service. You may know Rob as the voice for our much-loved teaching and daily inspirational devotions, The Word For Today.

In Ps Robs’ farewell speech, he shared a profound Scripture and a special message I would like to share with you, about how the ‘ministry of reconciliation’ is at the heart of Vision’s ministry.

He started by reading 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (NIV)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

Ps. Rob went on to say:

“There is no ministry in Australia that has the capacity that Vision has to be involved in a ministry of reconciliation. We have a chance to reach into places where other people just either won’t go or can’t go, and the chance to bring the Gospel, reconciling people to God, and that message of reconciliation. But not only that, because Vision is so interdenominational, we have the capacity to help Christians to be reconciled across all of those barriers too.

“What we are doing is no small thing. It is a significant thing in the history of this nation to be involved in the ministry that we are involved in with the capacity and the resources that we have… So I want to encourage you, to keep going. Don’t give up, and keep always in mind our need to be reconciled to one another.

“I really believe with all my heart, that the ministry of reconciliation is our call as Christians, and that Vision is called in a powerful way to absolutely have reconciliation as a frontline thing in this ministry.”

I think you would agree with me, this is a powerful word that speaks to every believer – Thank you, Ps. Rob for all that you have done.

So we continue in this mission with a confident expectation that God will equip us for the work he has called us to do. We continue to grow by faith, acquiring new stations (like Hobart) and our ever-evolving Vision app, reaching further than ever before.

All this would not be possible without you. So we truly thank you for all your ongoing support and prayers.

God bless you,

Phil Edwards
Chief Executive Officer
