Bringing The Gospel to the Outback

Dear friends,

Imagine a public holiday called ‘Gospel Day’ to celebrate the coming of Christianity and give glory to God for His blessings and for the peace He has bought us through the cross of His Son, Jesus! That’s the case in the Cook Islands where we just helped install Life FM 90.3 Rarotonga.

Australia’s shares the same amazing Christian heritage as these tiny islands but sadly it is much less recognised by our own society. Take for example John Flynn, the face on our $20 note. Flynn’s deep passion to bring the Gospel to the Outback was the driving force behind his backing of the pedal wireless—a communications revolution that in a single decisive blow overturned the isolation of the Outback.

Today Vision is building on this legacy.

‘I have been so encouraged listening to the ways Vision is impacting people all over Australia, even deep in the mines in WA. What an incredible ability to reach the most unreachable remote places.’  – Jacob, Alice Springs

This is the Lord’s doing and it is ‘marvellous in our eyes’. (Mark 12:11 KJV) He’s given us the amazing technology, the dedicated personnel and He’s given us YOU. We have been blessed by your recent gift and thank you for enabling us to both carry on and carry forward this legacy across ever greater areas of Australia—and now, beyond!

In His strong and mighty name

Ian Worby
Regional Director – Australia, Asia Pacific

PS Throughout 2016 we’re calling people to pray, because it is through prayer (and your ongoing practical support) that we’ll see our Aussie Christian heritage grow and people turn their lives around to follow Jesus.
