Dear friends,

As with each letter that I write to you, this morning I prayed: ‘Lord, what would you have me say?’

Just then an email arrived. It was from a young lady in a town where Vision Christian Radio was first switched on 17 years ago. Her words captured me.

She said: ‘I’ve listened to Vision for as long as I can remember, and I know first-hand how essential the organisation is to people all across the nation. Growing up in an isolated town without a church, I owe the foundations of my Christian belief to the programs I listened to on Vision. – Lainey, Nebo QLD

Wow, what an amazing legacy we are building together as we connect with people of all ages across Australia and help them focus on God and His Word.

Back in 2001, with only meagre resources but a strong conviction that God’s Word will accomplish the purpose for which it is sent (Isaiah 55:11), the tiny Vision team faithfully set about putting on new stations. They started in the most unlikely places—like Nebo QLD, population 840. Some might say they were crazy, but look at the fruit seventeen years later!

When you decide to become involved with Vision, you may not realise the impact your support will have staright away. But the constant stream of stories we hear today tell me how tremendously powerful this work is, and that it is seed sown in good soil! What a blessing it is to see God changing lives every day.

This year, against a backdrop of challenges, droughts and fires, we have seen an amazing expression of confidence in Vision’s work. On top of our operating needs we’ve seen God also provide the deposit and financing required to purchase the land and building that will soon become Vision’s new home—which will enable continued growth for decades.
We deeply appreciate your everyone who has generouly supported us this year to make this happen.

Stories like Lainey’s spur us on to ensure Vision’s beacon of real hope grows even brighter across the nation—enabling many more to stand firm like the wise man who built his house upon the rock.

“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” – Matt 7:25 NIV

2020 will be a landmark year as we start a new season in a bigger and more appropriately equipped HQ. We’re also undertaking a new initiative: The Treasury Project—a year-long campaign designed to help people embed God’s Word in their hearts and minds.

As we enter yet another decade, we continue to rely on God to provide the funds, people and opportunities required for this mission—a very current need is $100,000 to cover the funding gap for stage 2 of the building project (to complete the studios and other vital infrastructure, as well as moving-in costs, before we can start using this important new ministry tool).

It is an honour serving the Lord alongside you in this way to bring hope and refreshment to a nation that so desperately needs it.

On behalf of the entire Vision team, we wish you a blessed Christmas and a new year filled with the presence of God, no matter your circumstance.

In His strong and mighty name,

Phil Edwards
Chief Executive Officer

PS As we approach the Christmas holiday season please remember those doing it tough around our sunburnt land—and keep them in your prayers. Also, thank you once again for your faithful partnership this year, and in advance, for your continued support in 2020 as together we edge even closer to providing Trusted Christian Media for Every Australian.
