Man with Worries in 2020 Dear Friends,

Do you know people like the man in this picture? Perhaps you feel this way at times, too.

But Jesus has given us a very different picture. He said “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and
I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Together, we can help people and look to God daily.

Every day we hear stories of how God is using Vision to help people lift their eyes off the problems and pressures and ‘cast their cares’ on Him. We’ve been doing it for decades but this crazy year of curve-balls and uncertainty has really highlighted the impact we’re having as we share God’s good news across the nation.

I’m excited to let you know that in 2021 we continue to take steps toward our dream to reach every Australian with the good news of God.

Next year, we will;

  • Renew our focus on reaching more people in regional Australia by launching a plan to establish Vision Christian Radio in 100 new towns and cities that currently don’t have a Vision station
  • Significantly increase our efforts to reach people in major cities through the Vision app and other digital platforms.
  • Launch several new programs and streams designed to help with specific needs – including sharing God’s Word with kids, a Biblical approach to money, and more.

2020 has been a huge year for all of us here at Vision – despite the challenges of COVID, by God’s grace we’ve been able to establish our new ‘media hub’ (moving during lockdown made it more interesting!), and now we’re ready to turn our sights to these new initiatives so that even more people can hear the good news of God through Vision.

So I want to ask – will you prayerfully consider a gift toward Vision’s year-end appeal? Whether you’ve been supporting Vision for years, or perhaps you’ve never given – your gift will help ensure Vision is in a strong position to keep boldly sharing the truth and hope of God’s good news all across Australia in these times of great uncertainty.

Here’s the kind of people your donation will be helping.

Last week we received this moving letter from Michael in the ACT, which gives just a little insight into how your support of Vision is helping people in simple yet profound ways:

‘My wife’s mother, Paula, had a stroke on June 2. She’s in Croatia and has been unable to speak or look after herself since. She’s fully aware, but is a prisoner in her own body and can’t do all the things we take for granted. She can’t express herself well, eat or even breathe on her own. Before COVID hit, we had planned to travel to Croatia this Christmas, but life’s taken another turn. My wife, Ksenia, is devastated since she can’t be there with her to help. She works on the front line at Canberra Hospital’s microbiology labs. Even if flights there were possible, her employer wouldn’t release her. She’s needed here to run tests and help where help is needed.’

‘We pray for Paula every day, and if you could too, we’d sure appreciate it.’

I play The Word for Today each morning (from the Vision app) when I’m driving my son to school. If we miss some days, like weekends, he’s the first to insist going back and catching up before hearing the new one. It’s been good for him. He also prays with us each night for his Grandmother to get better. He’s the only grandchild of Paula’s she’s never held.’

What an honour to be able to help Michael, Ksenia and their son with (as the old hymn says) “strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow”.

The Vision app is just one way we bring God’s Word right to where people are. Vision’s broadcast, print and digital media ministry are reaching hundreds of thousands each day, and we have a big Vision to reach even more.

From all of the team here at Vision, thank you for your financial and prayerful support of this mission to ensure we are in a strong position to keep going and keep growing in 2021.

Blessings to you,

Phil Edwards – CEO.

P.S. Don’t forget to tune in and be part of Visionathon from 17-20 November and hear all the inspiring stories of Aussies who’ve had their lives transformed by Christ and His Word through Vision’s media ministry. Also, please prayerfully consider what you can give before the end of this year to help even more Aussies look to God daily—your support today will bring help and spiritual comfort to those in need.
