Dear friends,

When a friend goes to be with the Lord, it is a time of both sadness and joy.

That is how we all feel at Vision following the passing of our dear friend Bob Gass, author of The Word for Today, who went to be with Jesus on June 5. We stand on God’s Word which tells us we do ‘not grieve like people who have no hope.’ (1 Thess 4:13 NLT) – we know we will be reunited one day, and that in times of grief, God’s Word and love sustains us.

Perhaps you are also one of the many people greatly impacted by Bob’s writings. Having known Bob for some time, I can tell you that his ministry work was never about ‘him’, but about seeing you drawn closer to God through the truth of Scripture.

As he grew older, Bob knew his days on this earth would someday draw to a close, and his desire to leave a legacy intensified. This prompted him to begin a long writing project which will now enable these devotions to continue even after his death—a rich legacy that we pray will reach even more people in the future than it has over the past 25 years.

You can read more about Bob’s life at vision.org.au/remembering-bob-gass

Please keep Bob’s wife Debby and his family in your prayers.

Regards,

Phil Edwards
Chief Executive Officer

PS The Word for Today is Bob’s gift to the Body of Christ in Australia through Vision Christian Media. If you would like to see his legacy expand, please consider supporting this devotional and sending a copy to a friend.
