Dear friends,
While driving the other morning, I saw a large and shocking advertising billboard featuring a very grotesque image and the words WELCOME TO HELL. It was nearing 8 am and peak hour traffic. Pretty confronting just after breakfast!
Initially, my thoughts went to how outrageous it is that such a dark message could be so prominent – but before long, the words of Jesus from Matthew 5:14 were ringing in my head.
‘You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.’ (NKJV)
This Scripture has been top of mind for me in recent weeks as it has been the main focus of Visionathon. The slow-moving traffic gave me the opportunity to look around at the other people in their cars and wonder how many do not know the hope of Jesus. Sadly, too many.
If you think about time as a measure of this life and eternity as a measure of the next life, in either Heaven or Hell, the importance of sharing the Gospel comes into sharp focus. Yes, it is getting easier to spot darkness, but as always, light still overcomes darkness, and as Jesus’ ambassadors to our generation, this is our time to shine.
I invite you to consider how you can help ensure the light of the Gospel can keep shining bright Australia-wide through Vision today. Many testimonies show this is good soil – your prayers and financial seeds will reap a great harvest!
And with the financial year drawing to a close, now is also a great time to make a tax-deductible donation.
Your gift before June 30 will not only help Vision keep going across Australia but also to keep growing – including giving us greater confidence to sign a long-term agreement to continue broadcasting across the major metropolitan city of Brisbane, our third largest city with 2.5 million souls, on DAB+ digital radio, and to complete our ambitious project to bring Vision Christian Radio to 100 new small towns across the country by the end of 2023.
From day one, our dream has been to take the Gospel to every corner of Australia – 34 years later, we’re reaching around one million people a month through broadcast, print and digital media. That’s a great start – but with 26 million souls in Australia, there is much to be done.
We are encouraged to know your heart aligns with ours and value your prayers and financial support as we work together to use media for good and not for evil!
God bless,
Phil Edwards,
Chief Executive Officer
P.S. We hope you are encouraged by the testimonies below and all those they came in during our recent Visionathon appeal. I am constantly amazed at how God is using our efforts to help people.
‘Our family had a very tough year last year. There were so many times when I felt like I had to hold my family together due to long Covid struggles and many other things, and God gave me strength through Vision radio.’
– Stephen, Western Sydney NSW
‘At my lowest point, Vision helped me to reconnect with God. Amongst the chaos, I found comfort. THANK YOU, VISION! I am truly blessed to have access to Vision Radio and resources. Together May we continue to fight the good fight and continue the good work that has begun. God is with us; God is for us.’
– Angela, Baldivis WA
