Shining Light into a Dark and Desperate World

Dear friends,

If you’re old enough you may remember the Beatles’ hit song in the 60’s called “Help”. John Farnham also did an impassioned version of it in the early 80’s.

And if a modern day artist were to record it, I suspect it could become an anthem once again, especially the line, “Help me if you can, I’m feeling down”.

It is no wonder anxiety and depression are at all-time highs, with so much bad news, disunity, fear, speculation and opinion. Add in the uncertainties of lockdowns, many are feeling overwhelmed.

What can we do? I’d like to suggest three simple things.

1. Ground yourself in God’s truth daily (these devotions are a great start).
2. Give your fears and worries over to God. Prayer and praise are key.
3. Look for ways to help others according to Galatians 6:2 NIV “Carry each other’s burdens, and so you will fulfil the law of Christ.”

Jesus said we are the light of the world. It’s time to shine.

In Christ,

Driven to Proclaim the Gospel

What is a revival? Images of Billy Graham preaching to a packed MCG might come to mind. Or tent meetings that go for days and days where the Word of God is preached, and many come forward to commit their life to Jesus Christ. There have been many great awakenings and revivals throughout history, but …Read More

Big Change from Small Beginnings

There’s a wonderful line in CS Lewis’ Prince Caspian where the Prince says; “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different…”

The New South Wales Revivals

Melbourne had her big revival. But New South Wales had her local revivals too in the 18th and 19th century. In one, more than 25,000 came to faith.

Tough Questions We Must All Face

What is the meaning of life? Why am I here? Where am I going? Certainly those are questions that we all get around to asking at some point in our lives. But as the years pass, there are new questions that we eventually have to face: Is there life after death? What happens beyond the grave?
