Will Your Anchor Hold?

Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that I present the latest edition of Vision Today.

Inside you’ll find encouraging stories about what God is doing as we work together in partnership to take the true hope of His Word to our nation.

You’ll read how people just like you are using the resources Vision provides to reach others in their community. Plus there’s information to help you engage in and pray about the fight for religious freedoms in Australia—something which has always been assumed but is now under review by the Federal Government.

So many in our nation are looking for security in things that can be swept away in an instant (just look at the billions recently wiped off the stock market!) God is calling us to confront a culture obsessed with pretty shiny things with the truth, just like the old hymn says:

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

Your support of Vision is enabling the truth of God’s Word to cut through the noise of our culture to bring the true hope that great old hymn talks about (verse 2);

We have an Anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love.

Let me encourage you to see beyond the circumstance that surround us to understand that God will work all things together for good as we seek and trust Him.

Thank you for being part of this important mission to our nation.

Faithfully,

Phil Edwards
Chief Executive Officer

PS Vision is growing rapidly—with around 50 full-time staff and many more volunteers, our current facilities are becoming cramped! We are now seeking the Lord’s direction for a new home to better provide for current needs with room to grow further. Please pray that He will lead us in the right direction and bring the partners alongside who can provide the expertise and funds needed.

‘In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’ – Philippians 2:5-11 ERV
