Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16
Aimee shares some thoughts on this passage…
I love this verse as it is such a good call to focus our attention on the words in the Bible, which helps to quiet the ups and downs and distractions of life, quiet ourselves by bringing us to the comfort of Christ and His amazing promises. It redirects us out of our sin and selfishness, like a course correction on a boat and is like guiding us back to the ‘map’ God has for us in our lives, as outlined in the Bible. The words in the Bible enlighten and transform us and our lives for the better.
We can easily focus on the wrong things, sometimes without realising them. Part of our sinful nature is that we need God’s continual guidance and grace to bring us back to a place of centre with forwarding direction, like following a map with a compass.
Letting the Word of Christ dwell in us richly is to fill our lives with God’s way and be so full of His way that it is instructing us, our conversations and dealings with others, rising up out of us like a song. Knowing how great God is from His Word and being familiar with that naturally leads us to be more thankful for all the things He has done and all we have in Christ.

We trust God will bless you as you commit His Word to your memory and allow it to penetrate deep into your heart.
