You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You. Isaiah 26:3
Kerrie shares some thoughts on this passage…
The verse where this passage is from is talking about a people (Judah) who stand in direct contrast to the nations around them. The walls of God’s salvation keep them safe. This is a people characterised by righteousness, faithfulness, peacefulness, and trust, as opposed to pride or arrogance.
Our God promises to keep in perfect peace those who completely place their confidence in Him by leaning and depending on Him to do the work that is necessary to bring about our much-needed peace of mind.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to overcome the darkness in the world. With all the anxiety around, how do we do this? As a mum of five, I have always made it a habit to disengage from the news by turning the TV off and instead reading the Bible. This verse has been one I have committed to learn and it has brought comfort many times over. How can we be a people today who stand in direct contrast to the unrest around us? This does not mean we have to pretend there are no storms out there, but by focusing our minds on scripture like this one, Jesus is with us through our fears when we depend on Him.
Make time to spend with God, read His word and pray this scripture whenever you are anxious in the day or night. Our salvation in Jesus keeps us safe; we trust Him to be with us through trials, and He will keep us in perfect peace.
Allow yourself a moment to pause and meditate on this encouragement; feel the beauty of this reminder that our God offers perfect peace no matter what you may be going through.
