Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4
Anish shares some thoughts on this passage…
An active verb, “Rejoice”, means to be glad or take delight in something. As humans, we all like to be cheerful, and we all work hard to get that merry in our life…one or the other way. No one likes to experience pain in their life and even curse God for creating pain and, of course, murmur why the good God created something that is not at all good and which can play as a catalyst for emotional, psychological and physical imbalance in many.
Have you ever heard of a disease called: “Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP)? A baby born with this disease will never sense pain but still can feel the difference between sharp/dull/hot/cold. This lack of pain awareness often leads to an accumulation of burns, bruises, broken bones, and other health issues that may go undetected. The life expectancy of such a baby is below a year because by then, they would have burnt their whole body, broken all the bones, or completely eaten their tongue. So, our good God created pain for us to live. Then we are entitled to be rejoicing, for the Lord has given us the strength to endure pain and be joyful in him.
1 Corinthians 10:13 says: “But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able”. So, let us praise God and rejoice in Him, for his love endures forever. I will say it again: Rejoice!
