Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
Henry shares his reflections on this verse…
When I read this passage those first two words jump out at me. ‘Therefore’ and ‘go.’ This passage is both super inspiring and slightly scary. Super inspiring to read and know that God has given us a specific mission, an adventure for all of us to go and make disciples. And it is not just for our church leaders, Pastors or Evangelists to do, it is for all of us to go.
And the slightly scary part is that we will have to leave our comforts and go to where people are in our community, whether that is our neighbours, in community groups, sports teams, parks, shopping centres, places where people are gathering, go there and be amongst it.
In order to begin the process of building relationally with someone we have to GO to them, it’s got to be an action, an intentional decision to move out of our comfort and towards someone else’s direction and space.
