Remembering Bob Gass

Dear friends,

When a friend goes to be with the Lord, it is a time of both sadness and joy.

That is how we all feel at Vision following the passing of our dear friend Bob Gass, author of The Word for Today, who went to be with Jesus on June 5. We stand on God’s Word which tells us we do ‘not grieve like people who have no hope.’ (1 Thess 4:13 NLT) – we know we will be reunited one day, and that in times of grief, God’s Word and love sustains us.

Perhaps you are also one of the many people greatly impacted by Bob’s writings. Having known Bob for some time, I can tell you that his ministry work was never about ‘him’, but about seeing you drawn closer to God through the truth of Scripture.

As he grew older, Bob knew his days on this earth would someday draw to a close, and his desire to leave a legacy intensified. This prompted him to begin a long writing project which will now enable these devotions to continue even after his death—a rich legacy that we pray will reach even more people in the future than it has over the past 25 years.

Please keep Bob’s wife Debby and his family in your prayers.

Regards,

Dear friends, SEEDS are amazing, aren’t they? So tiny, yet one seed can produce a massive tree that gives us air to breathe, food to eat, shade on a hot day, and materials for tools and shelter. They stabilise the soil and provide a home for the birds and other wildlife. In the 231 years …Read More

Draw Closer to God, Through His Word

Dear friend, Would you say that you hear from God? Often times we might think God is silent because we haven’t seen that big bold sign we’re looking for. But often we miss what He’s trying to tell us because we’re too busy! The real question is—are we actually listening? The best place to start …Read More

One Step Closer to a New Home base for Vision

Dear friends, Absolutely stunned! That’s the best way to describe how we all feel about your generosity and God’s faithfulness, following our Visionathon Radio appeal. I must admit that I had questioned whether we would reach the million dollar goal within the allotted 4 days, but through the generosity of His people, God has just given …Read More
