Focus on God and His Word

Dear friends,

We live in an age of distraction.

It seems to me that there have never been as many things competing for our attention as we have now.

It’s interesting that in Joshua 3:4, the Lord commanded the people of Israel to keep a distance of 2,000 cubits (about 800m) between them and the Ark of the Covenant. This was so the people of Israel would always be able to see the Ark as they travelled.

There’s a key here for us as we travel through life: If we don’t keep our eyes on the Lord we can easily be distracted and lose sight of where He is leading us. The Word for Today is a very simple yet effective way to help you focus on God and His Word each day. If you are not yet a subscriber to these daily devotionals consider signing up today—it’s free and only takes a few minutes. If you are a subscriber you should be receiving your next copy in the mail within the next week or so.

I encourage you to set a time to read them every day, and I pray that as you do, the Lord God will reveal His plans and purposes to you in new and fresh ways.

Sincerely,

Phil Edwards
