Pastor Craig Groeschel leads the largest megachurch in America and hosts a leadership podcast that is downloaded by over 1 million people every month.
He is well respected in business and church communities and considered one of the most influential leaders of our time. Clearly, he knows a lot about leadership, but what can he share about leading through crisis – like the COVID-19 pandemic?
You may be surprised to find out that Ps Craig has a lot of experience leading organisations through significant crises. Here are a few that you’d be familiar with:
- In 1995, Craig was a staff member at a church located across the street from the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, which was destroyed by an act of domestic terrorism. The church building where he worked was destroyed by the bomb and a number of members lost their lives. Pastor Craig helped lead the church through that crisis.
- On 11th Sept 2001, Ps Craig was in an airplane at the same time that the 9/11 attacks were carried out in New York City. He landed to a world that had changed in an instant and lead the fledgling Life.Church through that crisis.
- During the Global Financial Crisis of 2008/09, Ps Craig lead his growing congregation through an upheaval which saw many organisations fail and individuals lose livelihoods, homes and more.
In this video, Ps Craig unpacks the nature of crisis and gives practical ways to not just see problems, but solve problems and seize opportunities!
