The Story So Far

In 1988, six people gathered around a kitchen table with a dream that one day every Australian would be able to hear and engage with the good news of Jesus through media. Today, believers from all backgrounds have caught the dream as it has unfolded into a large and growing not-for-profit ministry with a nationwide impact through radio, print and digital media.

In May 2020, we marked the start of an exciting new chapter in Vision’s story of impact and growth with the launch of the new Vision Christian Media Hub.

This state of the art facility is a hub for excellence and creativity in promoting the gospel across Australia (and overseas) through broadcast, print and digital media. Communicators, writers, producers, developers, journalists, technicians, distributors and more all collaborate together to demonstrate the truth and hope of God’s message – 24 hours a day, today and for decades to come!

God’s hand has been clearly evident in our journey in providing the seed funding needed to establish this critical infrastructure project. Over a two year period, thousands of visionary people have contributed enough cover a one-third deposit on the land and building plus the construction and fit-out of studios and offices, plus equipment and other amenities. This has been such a blessing! The remaining gap has been provided by a Christian-minded lender that specialises in helping ministries and churches to establish facilities and we’re now believing in faith that God will provide the funds needed for the final stage in this project – 100% ownership of this important Kingdom asset.

Will you join us in this mission to our nation? When you do, you’ll be leaving a lasting legacy that will have an incredible impact.

About the project

The building housing the new Vision Christian Media Hub was built in 1997, originally as a sales centre for a company called Divine Homes. It’s now being put to use for a Divine purpose!

It has a floor area of 1600m2 and sits on 1 acre of land right by the motorway in Springwood, Queensland.

Through the generous donations of the Vision “family” all over Australia and the assistance of a loan from a Christian-minded lender that specialises in assisting Christian ministries and churches to establish facilities, we’ve been able to secure this important asset.

How much more is needed to own it 100%?

The total cost of the purchase and fit-out was approximately $7million. Over $2.5million in cash has been raised to date with the balance being covered through a loan.

The loan will be partially be paid down through the sale of our old premises, leaving a balance of around $3.5million still to be raised. Although the loan term is 20 years, our hope is to repay it much sooner, ideally within 5-10 years.

You can help secure this important Kingdom asset in one of three simple ways;

As you do, you’ll be helping people know the good news of God.

Why buy?

This new facility provides more than just an appropriate place to base our work.

As anyone renting a house will know, the landlord retains the ultimate control of whether the tenant can stay long term or not. In our case with the need for established infrastructure such as studios, it is important that we have long term tenure over our place of operation.

The other benefit with owning a building is that it generally will increase in value, which gives the ministry more financial certainty in the event of financial downturns. It also gives us an asset that we can leverage as big opportunities come along, such as high power broadcast licenses.

We looked at many options, some of which were considerably cheaper, but their location and configuration was not what would be needed for our long term outlook. The purchase price of $5.9 million is a lot of money for any one individual, but when you look at the scale of what vision is already doing, and the expected growth of the ministry into the future, it is an appropriate amount.

To put it into context, Vision’s 2020 operating budget is around $8.5 Million.
