The Story So Far

Vision began in the late 1980’s with a dream that one day every Australian would have trusted Christian media at their fingertips.

Over 30 years later, Vision has grown in size and influence and today we stand ready to take the next big steps in that dream by securing and moving into a bigger and more capable ministry HG.  Our current home simply cannot cope with expected growth and new opportunities!

Vision’s new home will be a hub of creativity, with writers, developers, producers and journalists collaborating together to connect quality trusted Christian media content to hundreds of thousands of people daily – in Australia and overseas.  It will be a place from which the Gospel will go out 24 hours a day for decades to come!

In 2018 we found a building that suited our needs, and signed a contract to purchase it.  It was a step of faith because we didn’t have the deposit or the finance needed!

But PRAISE GOD, through the generosity of His people, we now own the building and are currently preparing to build the studios and offices needed so we can move in and start using it.

About The Building
  • 2 stories, solid concrete construction, built 1997
  • Freehold title on 1 acre
  • 1,600m2 floor area
  • Recently renovated

Located in Springwood QLD, right near a major motorway, in a growing commercial hub being touted as “Brisbane’s future second CBD”

How much money is needed?
  • Initially we need to have raised $2,210,000 in cash and equity to proceed with the purchase. This is needed by 1 June 2019.
  • Then, a further $600,000 is needed for studios and some fit-out work.
  • Then, over time, we will need to repay the $4,500,000 which will be loaned to us by a group that specialises in assisting Christian ministries and churches to establish facilities. The loan term is 20 years and at an attractive interest rate. Our hope is to repay it much sooner, ideally within 5-10 years.
When do you need the money?
  • Initially we needed to have raised $2,210,000 in cash and equity to proceed with the purchase. This was needed by 1 June 2019 and has now been raised, and the building purchased.
  • By 31 December 2019: A further $600,000
  • Over time (up to 20 years but preferably 5-10 years): Pay down the mortgage $4,500,000 plus interest costs.
Why not rent or buy something cheaper?

The decision to buy rather than rent was made fairly early on in the process because we believe we have a responsibility to build a solid asset base that will give certainty to the ministry in its operations. As anyone renting a house will know, the landlord retains the ultimate control of whether the tenant can stay long term or not. In our case with the need for established infrastructure such as studios, it is important that we have long term tenure over our place of operation.

The other benefit with owning a building is that it generally will increase in value, which gives the ministry more financial certainty in the event of financial downturns. It also gives us an asset that we can leverage if big opportunities come along, such as high powered license acquisitions.

Regarding the price of the building, we believe we are paying a fair price for the type, location and condition of the building – and importantly the amount of land (1 acre). We looked at many options, some of which were considerably cheaper, but their location and configuration was not what would be needed for our long term outlook. The purchase price of $5.9 million is a lot of money for any one individual, but when you look at the scale of what vision is already doing, and the expected growth of the ministry into the future, it is an appropriate amount. To put it into context, Vision’s 2018 operating budget was almost $8 Million.

We have been very blessed to be able to obtain a loan from a Christian organisation that helps other Christian ministries and churches to secure infrastructure such as buildings. Although we have a loan term of 20 years, our hope is to repay it within 5 to 10 years as The Lords leads many more people around Australia to catch the vision and importance of what we are doing.

We invite you to pray about how God may want you to help in this mission to Australia too. Your support will help bring light into growing darkness.

When you decide to give, you’ll be joining many others who share our passion and responsibility to share the hope and truth of God.

Your gift will be tax-deductible.

Vision is Disrupting the Noise

We have endless choices, with much deceit and distraction. Even Christians have taken the bait with many struggling to live out their faith and lacking the confidence to share it.

But Vision gets right in the middle of all that noise to bring focus by sharing biblical truth with  love, clarity and confidence. We have become a trusted source of true hope that;

  • Strengthens and affirms Christians to live out their faith
  • Is a safe place for anyone to eavesdrop on open conversations about God
  • Is a wellspring of encouragement and hope 24/7

Combining the Power of God’s Word with the Reach of Media

Survey Reveals Impact of Vision Christian Radio

New independent research of over 700 Vision Christian Radio listeners shows that indeed God is on the move through Vision!

    It showed;

  • 95% of listeners have been prompted to pray about a person or situation after hearing about it on Vision — a third of them say it happens daily or weekly!
  • Almost three-quarters of listeners have begun reading their Bible more frequently as a result of tuning in.

What is the Key for the Gospel in Australia?

The Bible first arrived in our nation 231 years ago, and its influence runs very deep.

Whilst Australian culture has always had an irreverent streak toward Christians, most people have retained a deep regard for the scriptures.

But that is changing as the gap between the average Aussie and the Bible gets wider.

Many now also see the institutional Church as out of touch, irrelevant and untrustworthy.

But in contrast, research* shows that Australians largely describe the Christians they know with quite positive terms such as caring, loving, kind, honest and faithful.

In fact the #1 attractor for non-believers is seeking people who live out genuine faith.

Personal connection and authenticity are the keys to engaging Australians with God’s Word.

But many Christians struggle against a tide of secular thinking.
