Two Australians are helping families trapped in a never-ending cycle of debt and servitude in Pakistan.

Pastor Stephen Downie and Mick Cory were shocked to witness modern slavery in the country’s brick kilns.

Adults and children must meet a daily quota of bricks or go further in debt to the owners.

Stephen told Vision Radio how he and Mick formed Redeemer Ministries to help some of those families.

They’ve already organised the release of 40 families.

Those families are now living in the community with jobs and their children attending school.

17 families have become practicing Christians with the support of an Evangelical church.

It’s estimated at least 2 million people are indentured to the brick kiln owners
