The former home of evangelist Billy Graham is now a sanctuary for pastoral restoration.
It offers a program that’s designed to rejuvenate weary pastors and missionaries, free of charge.
The official website of Billy’s Home Place in Montreat, North Carolina describes it “as a monument to the countless hours Billy Graham spent crying out to God on behalf of unrepentant souls and those in need of Christ.”
It adds that: “Rich in Christian history and gospel-legacy, this humble estate is more than a standing relic of a life well lived. Rather this house serves as a continuation of Dr. Graham’s legacy. A retreat for weary pastors and missionaries; a solace to seek the face of God. It is to that end that Billy’s Home Place was established. To preserve the original home of Billy Graham while providing a place for missionaries and pastors to come for respite and restoration.”
“Throughout the centuries, this home stood as an altar of anointing where God chose to use a humble servant to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Billy would soon become America’s Pastor, filling arenas and colosseums around the world, but his earliest ministry took place around the fireplace and kitchen table at this modest mountain home.”
The Christian Post reports the two-storey home is still in pristine condition and surrounded by picturesque walking trails and streams.
It includes original furnishings, books, photos and mementos.
The ministry has been set up thanks to the efforts of Billy’ Graham’s third daughter Ruth, Christian actor Kirk Cameron and Charlotte businessman Stephen L Thomas.
It offers several experiences designed to rejuvenate pastors and help believers discover God’s will by diving deep into four areas: Understanding God’s Word, Leadership Calling On Our Lives, Pastor Restoration, and Ministry Leadership Opportunities.
