The World Missionary Press has translated the Gospel of John into Dari, the most widely spoken language in Afghanistan.
The Christian organisation told Mission Network News it already had two major orders, one of them for 25,000 copies.
Many will go to Afghan communities in Europe and parts of the Middle East where large groups of Afghani refugees have resettled.
It’s a new field for the World Missionary Press which had published nothing in the Dari language before the September 11, 2001 attacks on the US.
WMP’s Helen Williams says Afghani believers in Europe are sensing people reaching out.
She says having Christian literature in any language is just an enormous blessing.
Recipients get it for free.
However, plans to smuggle copies of the latest publication into Afghanistan remain secret.
