Preserving Christian values is a now a top priority in Hungary, according to a senior government official.

Tristan Azbej says Hungary is implementing policies based on the social teachings of the Christian faith and the Bible.

He serves as the State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians.

Mr Azbej told CBN News this involves protecting human dignity, human freedom, and the sanctity of family and marriage.

Hungary’s constitution confirms that marriage is between one man and one woman, and that life has to be protected from conception.

In the past four years, it has supported a quarter of a million persecuted Christians.

The former Communist nation has also helped rebuild 67 churches in Lebanon, and an Iraqi town that was destroyed by ISIS.
