The world’s longest-running religious television program has just marked its 60th anniversary.

The BBC’s “Songs of Praise” was first broadcast in 1961 and presented nearly every Sunday morning since.

Not just in the UK, but around the world.

The Queen congratulated the broadcaster for presenting Christianity as a “living faith.”

Her Majesty commended the producers for featuring so many people who have put their faith at the centre of their lives.

The program has presented nearly 3,000 episodes of hymns and worship songs from large and small congregations across the United Kingdom.

Aled Jones, who has been a presenter for over 20 years, told the Christian Post it was one of the biggest joys of his life.

The anniversary program was presented from Westminster Abbey.
