A leading Evangelical political advocacy group will spend A$60 million to mobilise the Christian vote in the US mid-term elections in November.

The Faith and Freedom Coalition will target 24 different states and knock on more than eight million doors.

All House of Representatives seats will be up for grabs as well as 35 Senate seats and 36 governorships.

Latest polls show Republicans taking back control of the House and the Democrats maintaining their majority in the Senate.

Another Christian non-profit called My Faith Votes is also investing millions in the campaign.

It wants churches to encourage their congregations to get registered to vote because around 15 million Christians are currently unregistered and therefore ineligible to vote.

The Christian Post reports that in contrast there’s been a big spike in Democrat registrations.
