The world’s largest Christian media organisation has found more Cubans are tuning in to its broadcasts.
Since 2009, Trans World Radio (TWR) has been producing radio programs targeting the last Communist nation in the western hemisphere.
They aim to speak encouragement into the hearts of Cubans, despite their often difficult circumstances.
Prior to the pandemic, TWR received one or two phone calls from listeners in Cuba each day.
They are now receiving up to 25 phone calls daily from people asking for prayer and literature.
Inmates from prisons are also among those phoning for spiritual help after hearing the programs on portable radios inside the jails.
Inspire Magazine reports the programs include “Messages of Faith and Hope”, a five-minute daily devotional.
Other programs focus on the Home, the Gospel and Christian discipleship.
