Linda Ranson Jacobs thought her life was going great – she and her husband were involved in their children and happily raising two kids. One day, without warning, her husband said he wanted a divorce and left.

In this Focus on the Family podcast (video and audio above), Linda shares how she went into shock – praying and begging him to return, but he didn’t. Linda was thrust into life as a single mum, feeling confused, scared and completely alone. Over the years, she raised her children as a single mum.

Now, Linda comes alongside other single parents to offer hope, practical parenting advice and ideas for setting healthy boundaries with former spouses. She also gives Christians practical ways they can minister to the single parents they know.

Practice Gratefulness

An attitude of gratitude is something we all need to have and be able to teach our children. We know that being thankful has physiological benefits, but it’s also good for our mental health and happiness. It is especially important for those of us with faith to practice gratefulness.
