In his message, Bringing Christ To Your Crisis, Pastor Greg Laurie asks the question every Christian wants answered: is coronavirus a sign of the end times? Greg believes it is. The bible warns us that there will be suffering, plagues and pestilences. These are foreshocks telling us to wake up!
Covid-19 is an international storm, and that can feel discouraging to an already hurting world. But every storm has a beginning, a middle and end. Even though we don’t know where we are in the storm that is Covid, we can still have eternal hope in Jesus.
“A lot of people are asking, what can God do in the midst of a pandemic? But I believe the real question is are you willing to invite Christ into your crisis? Are you willing to look for Him in the storm?”, says Greg. “He is standing there, waiting to be invited in.”
We need to listen to what God has to say because our lives depend on it. The bible is the only source of truth.
Greg believes that the virus is a warning sign, along with the Increase in conflict we are seeing. Not just amongst each other, but amongst the nations. We may not be in the tribulation yet, but we know it is coming. The bible tells us that when the signs are getting closer together, Jesus is coming. This is our wakeup call! These are reminders that Jesus will be back.
“This is the time, especially for older people, to realise they have more to offer than they think. Tell people about your relationship with God and what He has done for you. Be a comfort and reassurance to others right now,” Greg continues.
We must all humble ourselves before God. The gospel is good news, and everybody could use some of that at the moment. There is a God in heaven who loves you and wants to help you find the meaning and purpose of your life. You can know with certainty that you will go to heaven when you die. The hope of heaven is for the person who puts their faith in Jesus Christ.
“Don’t leave it until it’s too late,” says Greg. “Don’t let yourself be deceived and do not mock God. To me Christians always seemed so weird, but they were happy. I started to think, what if the gospel is true? Jesus said, you’re either for me or against me. No way did I want to be against Him.”
Greg advises us not to miss our moment by being busy mocking God. We need to pay attention to what is happening around us and get right with Him. We are all going to die someday. Do you have the certainty of heaven?
We have all fallen short and we’ve all broken God’s commandments. Some more than others. But Jesus didn’t come to save the righteous, He came to save the lost. Will you accept His invitation today?
