Australian golfer Matt Jones has claimed victory in the Honda Classic on the PGA tour.
Jones finished on 12-under to finish five shots clear of the field in Florida.
It’s the 40-year-old’s second PGA title win, and his first since 2014.
In his post-match interview, he became emotional when reflecting on the win.
“I’ve had some tough times in between that and now,” he said, becoming teary.
“Sorry. Pretty emotional. Seven years. I just worked hard. I had some tough times putting but just worked hard with my coach back in Australia, Gary, and it’s finally paid off.”
Jones’ victory earns him a spot in The Masters, to be held in Augusta in April.
