Publishers of dictionaries are caving in to pressure from LGBT activists and changing their definitions of a ‘man’ and a ‘woman’.

The Cambridge Dictionary’s updated definition in a secondary characterisation of a ‘woman’ states that the term describes “an adult who lives and identifies as female, though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.”

Faithwire reports the definition of a man is explained in a similar way.

On social media, some called it a joke and noted biology can’t be changed.

Others claimed the ‘progressives’ are already dictating the agenda:

“This battle is already over, the radical left already owns linguistics and comms. This is why they’re winning. They have activists at every level of every institution and they are masters at catchy slogans that infuriate normies.”

In a similar vein, some commentators observed:

“If you can control the language, you can control the population.”

“Changes to language eventually lead to changes in thinking, that is the plan, to redefine our humanity.”

A Cambridge Dictionary spokesperson said the definition was altered after staff “carefully studied usage patterns of the word ‘woman’ and concluded the definition is one that learners of English should be aware of to support their understanding of how the language is used.”

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary now has a supplementary definition of “female” as “having a gender identity that is the opposite of male”.

The Oxford Dictionary has also altered its definition of “woman” to include they could be “a person’s wife, girlfriend, or female lover”, not only a man’s.

Its entry for “man” was also changed to include gender-neutral language in the example of a relationship.
