Dangers Of Mail Order Abortion Drugs

European doctors are shipping abortion pills to Americans in defiance of the drugs being banned in some states.

Since the US Supreme Court overturned the Roe versus Wade precedent in June, a company called Aid Access has been receiving 4,000 requests a day for abortion pills — up from around 650-per-day prior to the historic ruling.

Potential patients visit the Aid Access website and answer a series of questions, such as how far along they are in pregnancy and whether anyone is forcing them into the abortion.

The European medical team then sends a prescription directly to the patient’s pharmacy.

It’s proving difficult to stop the shipments because the supplier operates outside the country and ships the pills from India.

The American Association of Pro-life Obstetricians and Gynecologists warns the overseas shipments are “dangerous.”

CEO Dr. Donna Harrison, says patients may not know exactly how far along their pregnancy is, or they could have a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy outside the womb.

She says the symptoms of a chemical abortion are exactly the same as a rupturing ectopic pregnancy.

Dr. Harrison says unregulated shipments make it easier for other parties to order them and force women to undergo a chemical abortion without consent.
