Hollywood heavyweights Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg will soon be seen on the big screen in a faith-based biopic.
‘Father Stu” tells the story of boxer-turned-priest Father Stuart Long’s inspiring journey from self-destruction to redemption.
Mark Wahlberg who’s also a producer wanted to make the movie because it mirrored his own life.
The actor said he was an angry young man while attending college and turned to boxing to channel that anger, but broke his jaw and tried his luck in the movies.
Wahlberg is an outspoken Christian who says he likes to start and end each day by reflecting on his faith.
He told the Christian Post he’s been very blessed and that’s allowed him to accomplish much.
Mel Gibson has spoken out about his faith as well, and is reported to be working on sequel to ‘The Passion of the Christ’.
‘Father Stu’ which also stars Australian Jacki Weaver is due for release in April.
