Queensland to Reopen Border to Victoria

by | Wed, Nov 25 2020

The Queensland Premier says there is light at the end of the tunnel for families, ahead of the border re-opening next week.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has today announced that the border with Victoria will reopen from Tuesday December 1.

It comes after an earlier announcement that travellers can move between Sydney and the Sunshine State without needing to quarantine.

Ms Palaszczuk says they have a plan on how to respond if there are outbreaks.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says it’s great news for many families ahead of Christmas.

“I’m thrilled that Queensland’s open; it’s great to see the people reuniting in Queensland and I think for Christmas coming up, that’s especially important,” he says.

“It’s important now that as we open safely in Queensland, that we remain safely open.”
