The Australian Christian Lobby has made abortion a key issue in this weekend’s South Australian state election.

It’s calling on Christian voters to check how MPs voted on the state’s Termination of Pregnancy Bill and a failed amendment to restrict access to late term abortions.

ACL National Director Of Politics Wendy Francis told Vision Radio the aim is to make it an ‘election for life’.

Her advice to SA voters is to: ” Check out where your MP voted and if they voted to approve abortion to birth, they no longer deserve to be in the South Australian Parliament.”

The ACL website gives a breakdown of how every MP voted.

Ms Francis said it’s been exciting to see the media portray the poll as being about a life issue, but concedes that it’s sad it has to be an issue at all.

The Family First party has announced it will preference candidates who voted for the failed amendment.
