A Canadian teacher has been placed on forced leave after being accused of using ‘transphobic’ language at a school board meeting.

Carolyn Burjoski voiced concerns over the inclusion of books about medical gender transition in Ontario school libraries that she believed were age-inappropriate.

But the board shut her down and removed video of exactly what she said in explaining her concerns.

The Christian Post reports she cannot resume teaching, pending a formal investigation.

Ms Burjoski claims she is being is “silenced, slandered, bullied and abused” and ‘cancel culture’ needs to stop.”

The teacher insists she is “not transphobic and fully supports the rights of transgender people.”

She argues Canadians need to recover their ability to listen and speak to each other with an open mind, saying: “Respectful dialogue is the core of democracy.”
