Two Thirds Of Americans Opposed To Men Competing In Women’s Sport

A new survey has found an overwhelming majority of Americans against allowing men to compete in women’s sport.

Leading pollster Gallup found 69% of respondents said transgender athletes should be required to compete against athletes of their birth sex. That’s up from 62% two years ago.

Around a quarter thought they should be able to compete against the opposite sex. That’s down from more than a third in 2021.

Even Democrat voters showed a sharp increase against biological men competing against women.

The Christian Post reports more than two dozen states have banned transgender athletes from women’s sport.

The poll also found 55% of respondents consider “changing one’s gender” to be “morally wrong,”

Gallup concluded that it appears that Americans view the issue through a lens of competitive fairness rather than transgender rights.

However, it cautioned that with younger demographics more supportive of transgender participation in women’s sport, opinions may eventually shift toward more accepting views.
