A pastor in western Uganda is still fighting for life in hospital, seven weeks after being poisoned by Muslim extremists.
He was attacked by seven men who stormed into a home in late November.
The pastor was praying for a couple who had recently converted from Islam to Christianity.
The intruders forced all three believers to eat cooked bananas containing a deadly fungicide.
The newly Christian couple managed to get away, but the pastor could not immediately escape.
The assailants fled after neighbours raised the alarm.
The husband and wife spent three weeks in hospital before being released.
The pastor remains in a critical condition.
Morning Star News reports there has been an upsurge in attacks on pastors, especially those who lead Muslims to Christ.
