Vision’s radio station at Molong, NSW, went to air on 21 September 2022. This is our 52nd radio station out of the 100 stations 2021-2023 project and 789 station overall.

Molong, located 289 km north-west of Sydney, has a population of 2577 residents. Molong is a Wiradjuri word meaning ‘place of many rocks.’ Sir Thomas Mitchell founded Molong in 1864 with help from Yuranigh, an Aboriginal he employed. The town was a police and military outpost, but now it is a rich agricultural and farming area for wheat, sheep, cattle, fruit, and wine since it’s nestled in the Orange wine region.

Some of Molong’s features include the beautifully restored Cobb & Co Coachhouse, which showcases the local history. How about picking delicious stone fruit fresh from the tree at one of the many orchards or exploring the Molong Village Markets? The Arch Loop Track will lead you to the mysterious Arch Cave. The Borenore Caves are a series of ancient limestone chambers found at the Borenore Karst Conservation Area south of Molong.

Don’t forget to tune in to Vision Radio while you’re there. It might just change your life!
